Entering moves just became easier. The variation dialogue is rarely displayed and when entering an alternative move in the notation a new variation is almost always created directly - without displaying a variation box.
Only on the last move does the variation box appear since experience has shown that this is where errors are corrected.
Start - Undo allows you to undo changes. Pressing and holding the CTRL key stops the variation box from appearing.
