Bad engine performance in ChessBase

Problem:  For a few days I have been having a massive performance problem with the engines in ChessBase. A version of Houdini installed in parallel reaches over 10.000kN/s, whilst that engine can only manage approximately 2.000kN/s in ChessBase. The problem occurs with various engines. In Task Manager you can see that not even one CPU-core is really overloaded. I have the impression that this has only been happening since the latest update. Are you aware of the problem?

Answer: This problem occurs whenever the user has deactivated the option “Smart CPU usage”.  This can be set via Options > Engines > Browse > Advanced.

The user can at any time set or change the number of CPU`s to be used.
