Question: I have purchased the download version of Fritz 17. When I look in my shop account under “My downloads” I find several installation files.
The installation files for the database and the openings book are not a problem for me. But which Fritz 17 Version should I install? Which of them should I use? That is not clear to me.
Answer: In the download folder you will find three different installers:
- Windows 7/8 64 Bit Download this installer in order to install the program on an older 64 Bit Windows. So, this installer is suitable for users who are still running Windows 7/8 or 8.1!
- Windows 7/8 32 Bit This download is intended for users who are still working with a 32 Bit Windows 7/8.
- Setup Fritz 17 for Windows 10 This download ought to be the correct choice for the majority of our users. It installs the version of the program intended for Windows 10 64 Bit.
For the installation of the “Fat Fritz” engine. The dialog in the installer offers you the following options.
Here you decide which version is to be installed according to the features of your system (graphics card). In the section “Description” the installer gives you some brief tips. The dialog box displayed shows you the appropriate options for a system which does not have an Nvidia graphics card installed.
