Answer: with ChessBase 17 you can rename an existing database directly in the database window.
This is done via right-click on the database - Tools - Rename all files.
This comfortable option is not available in the database module of our chess programs, but there is also a possibility to perform the renaming.
1.create a new database with the desired database name via menu File - New.
2. open the database that contains the lots you want to copy.
3.copy the games to be copied in the games list and copy them to the Windows clipboard with CTRL-C. 4.open the target database.
4. open the target database. Use the key combination CTRL-V to paste the games into the newly created target database.
5. now you can delete the database with the unwanted name, for example with any file manager like Windows Explorer.
